Creative Challenge: Reproducing Hofman's Painting
The reproduction of Hofman's painting depicting the Wisła Kraków football team from 1926 was planned as the centerpiece of the exhibition “Wlastimil Hofman's Sports Passions.” Styler was responsible for the execution of this monumental work. Organized by the History of Wisła Association with the support of TS Wisła and private collectors, the exhibition was open to visitors from June 1 to June 19 this year. It showcased not only beautiful paintings but also photographs, unique memorabilia, and letters related to the artist. For over two weeks, the interior took on a unique character, with art taking center stage.

Wlastimil Hofman and His Work
Wlastimil Hofman (1881-1970) was an outstanding painter of the Young Poland period, dedicating his life and work to symbolism and allegory, spending his later years in Warsaw. Born into a Polish-Czech family, he studied in Kraków under masters such as Jacek Malczewski, Jan Stanisławski, and Leon Wyczółkowski. His works reflect the essence of narrative pursuit, theatricality, and clear contours with value modeling. Hofman was a versatile artist whose works, in various sizes, not only mirrored the changing reality but also made significant contributions to the development of Polish painting and graphics in the 20th century. His art continues to inspire and fascinate, remaining an important part of Poland's cultural heritage. He is especially known for landscapes, portraits, still lifes, and genre scenes, exhibiting elements of Impressionism, Expressionism, and Symbolism. Characteristic of his works are intense colors, dynamic compositions, and strong emotions expressed through figures and landscapes.
Hofman was not only an artist but also an avid fan of Wisła Kraków. His passion for sports and football resulted in a series of paintings capturing the male athletic endeavor. He painted portraits of the players of the "White Star," which have become part of the club's history, adorning the walls of its interiors.

Project Stages
The realization of the reproduction, measuring 210 cm by 490 cm, was a true challenge and an opportunity to elevate our skills. The task proved to be extremely complex, and here’s how we achieved success step by step:
1. Printing Capturing Colors and Canvas Texture
1. Capturing the colors and texture of the canvas in the project and then in the print was a crucial element of the entire realization. Remarkably, the reproduction succeeded with almost no need for adjustments—colors were faithfully recreated, thanks to the exceptional skills of our graphics department, equipped with excellent technology and extensive knowledge and experience. The visual effect of the final print exceeded our expectations, demonstrating the professionalism of the team.
It is worth noting that the entire reproduction was based solely on photographic documentation of the original. Despite the team not having direct access to the painting, they successfully replicated both the colors and the texture of the canvas. This achievement is particularly impressive given the challenges of accurately representing a 20th-century original. Attention to detail, precise color matching, and texture recreation ensured that the final effect was almost indistinguishable from the original. Such mastery in reproduction is a testament to the highest level of professionalism and commitment from the entire team.

2. Division Not Disturbing the Perception of the Artwork
2. The first step was deciding to stretch the canvas and divide it into several parts. While technically possible to print the painting in one piece, due to transportation logistics and creating a suitably large frame, dividing the canvas was a better choice. Our Graphics Department faced the challenge of dividing the canvas in a way that minimally affected the perception of the whole image. After careful consideration, it was decided that dividing it into five parts would be optimal while allowing for easy transport.

3. Precision Execution
Each of the five parts required millimeter precision both during printing and stretching onto the frames to ensure that all elements fit perfectly together. This was key to ensuring the final effect aligned with the artist's vision and highlighted the beauty and value of the artwork.

4. High-Level Assembly and Framing
After printing and stretching the canvas, the next challenge was assembling and framing the whole piece into one cohesive frame. The five parts of the painting were joined with steel plates, ensuring the structure’s rigidity and resistance to damage. Next, we added a custom-cut frame, which was assembled on-site.

5. Hanging on the Wall
For hanging the complete piece, we used a steel strip both on the wall and on the artwork. This ensured even hanging and eliminated the risk of the individual elements shifting. A secure and stable installation allowed for a beautiful presentation of the work within the interior.

Experiment and Innovate
The entire endeavor was an incredible lesson in precision, collaboration, and innovative thinking. Thanks to the dedication of the team, we successfully executed a project of truly high standards, now proudly displayed within the interior, bringing history to life once more. This experience demonstrates that it’s worthwhile to experiment, and even the most challenging challenges can be overcome when approached with passion, determination, and attention to the smallest details.
